Huawei’s New Watch Ultimate 2 Is Made for Deep Dives, Adventure Trails, and Everyday Style

Huawei’s latest flagship wearable, the Watch Ultimate 2, has officially landed across Europe — and it’s not your average smartwatch. Built for divers, explorers, and anyone who wants their wrist tech to look as good as it performs, this is Huawei’s boldest step yet into adventure-grade wearables.

The Watch Ultimate 2 isn’t just premium by name. Its body is forged from zirconium-based liquid metal alloy, giving it extreme durability while maintaining a refined, luxury feel. On the front, you get a 1.5-inch LTPO 2.0 AMOLED display with 466×466 resolution and a peak brightness of 3,500 nits, all protected by sapphire glass. It’s tough, glossy, and unmistakably high-end — the kind of watch that looks at home both in boardrooms and beneath the ocean’s surface.

Huawei has built this watch for serious divers. It’s the company’s first smartwatch rated for depths up to 150 meters, and it debuts sonar-based underwater communication — a world-first for Huawei wearables. That means you can send sonar messages underwater at depths of up to 30 meters, making it possible to coordinate dives or communicate with partners without surfacing. The watch supports up to 50 dive partners, tracks depth, dive duration, and PO2, and even saves all your stats inside the Huawei Health app for later review. Whether you’re into recreational dives or technical deep-sea exploration, this watch has you covered.

But it’s not all about the ocean. On land, the Watch Ultimate 2 is packed with high-end fitness and navigation tools. There’s Expedition Mode, which lets users import routes and download offline maps, powered by Huawei’s Sunflower Positioning System for ultra-precise GPS tracking. The new X-Tap control between the two crowns gives fast access to heartbeat, ECG, and other health data, while eSIM support enables standalone calls with AI noise cancellation for crystal-clear communication.

Huawei didn’t skimp on battery life either. The Watch Ultimate 2 lasts up to 11 days with light use, 6 days in typical use, and 4 days with the always-on display enabled. For Android users, that translates to roughly 4.5 days of mixed use — slightly less for iPhone owners at 3.5 days.

Beyond fitness and adventure, the watch doubles as a productivity companion. It features fall detection, smart gesture controls, golf tracking with zoomable course maps, action camera control, mobile payments, and access to AppGallery apps right from your wrist. Huawei even managed to squeeze in golf trajectory sharing, which feels tailor-made for Asia’s growing golf scene.

Pricing & availability

In Europe, the Huawei Watch Ultimate 2 starts at €899 (around $1,043) and is available through Huawei’s online store, the Berlin flagship, and major retailers. Early buyers — before November 4 — will score a pair of FreeBuds Pro 4 earbuds and an extended three-year warranty at no extra cost.

With its combination of durability, precision diving tools, and sleek luxury design, the Watch Ultimate 2 blurs the line between smartwatch and professional instrument. It’s a piece of tech that doesn’t just keep up with your lifestyle — it’s built to push it further.
